Based in: Melbourne or Brisbane, Australia
Open opportunity: Project Cost Controller
The selected professional will bring a proactive and collaborative approach to cost control and will have a strong financial acumen and the ability to analyze complex data sets to provide meaningful insights.
What will you do?
- Budget Oversight: collaborate with project managers and members of the project team to develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with overall project financial objectives.
- Oversee the end-to-end process of purchase order requests, approvals and entries in Jagger working closely with the Procurement team to ensure accuracy and timely execution.
- Support project budget analysis for development, delivery, and operational project managers and executive leaders through pipeline review meetings and BIM control.
- Preparation and maintenance of project budgets and forecasts, maintain the Final Forecast Cost of projects
- Variance analysis such as monthly movements & budget vs forecast.
- Updating the project cash flow forecast.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project management, procurement, and accounting, to streamline cost control processes.
- Provide detailed cost reports and dashboards to management
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
What do we need?
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role with responsibility for managing project costs, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
- Bachelor's degree or above in Commerce, Business or Finance.
- CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification desirable.
- Skilled in cost control using Excel, SAP4hana and other financial tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve financial goals.
