The Clinical Nurse Specialist – MH Liaison GP serves as a vital clinical expert, consultant, educator, and advocate across the continuum of mental health care. The successful applicant shall be responsible for providing clinical leadership, consultation, and coordination to promote understanding between General Practitioners (GP’s) and Rockingham Kwinana Mental Health Service (RKMHS) to ensure optimum access and delivery of quality patient care. Provides triage, assessment and time limited management and support within the areas of specialty and advanced practice to consumers with complex mental health needs, their families, and carers.

Rockingham Peel Group is part of the South Metropolitan Health Service, one of the fastest growing health services in Western Australia and comprises two hospital campuses, Rockingham General Hospital and Murray District Hospital, in addition to community and mental health services across Peel, Rockingham and Kwinana. Murray District Hospital offers inpatient medical services, palliative care and allied health services.

South Metropolitan Health Service Mental Health (SMHS) provides a comprehensive range of public mental health services for consumers through its community mental health services, hospitals and community health centres.

SMHS’s Mental Health Services are delivered by two sites (Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Mental Health (FSFH Mental Health), and the Peel and Rockingham Kwinana Mental Health (PaRK Mental Health), which deliver specialist mental health services across the South Metropolitan Health catchment area.

SMHS Mental Health Services deliver extensive inpatient and community based mental health programs targeted at supporting people with serious and enduring mental illness. These programs promote early assessment, intervention and treatment, and target supporting transitions to maximise independence.

SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth.
