About the Role
The Project Coordinator plays a key role within the Grampians Public Health Unit (GPHU), delivering public health projects, programs, and initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of people across the Grampians region. The role involves strategic project planning, stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and quality improvement to drive effective public health outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate public health projects aligned with GPHU’s strategic goals

  • Lead multiple projects and maintain project management frameworks and tools

  • Monitor progress, manage risks, and prepare reports and documentation

  • Build collaborative relationships with internal teams, health services, government agencies, and community groups

  • Lead stakeholder engagement and support regional partnerships

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and contribute to quality improvement and governance activities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to project staff and support capability development within the team

  • Participate in community initiatives and events


Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in public health, project management or a related field

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in project/program management within health or community services

  • Proven success in managing complex projects and engaging diverse stakeholders

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and adaptive thinking skills

  • Experience working with leadership teams to implement strategic goals

  • Excellent documentation, evaluation and reporting skills

  • Sound knowledge of quality improvement, safety, equity and risk management principles
