About the Role
The Project Officer supports the delivery of public health projects and initiatives that improve health and wellbeing across the Grampians region. Working within the Grampians Public Health Unit (GPHU), the role assists in project planning, implementation, and evaluation, while engaging with stakeholders and contributing to evidence-based public health outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development, delivery, and evaluation of public health projects aligned with GPHU objectives

  • Assist with project documentation, reporting, and risk identification

  • Contribute to project management activities, frameworks and tools

  • Maintain effective stakeholder relationships and support community engagement

  • Participate in events, regional networks, and public health initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and reporting requirements

  • Support quality improvement activities and contribute to team development


Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in public health, project management or a related field

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in project support or similar roles, preferably in health or community services

  • Experience supporting multiple projects and engaging with a range of stakeholders

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting skills

  • Understanding of quality improvement and health promotion principles

  • Desirable: experience in data analysis, system change models, and familiarity with project management tools
