About The Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Compliance Advisor to drive the development and implementation of compliance strategies, ensuring alignment with regulatory obligations and internal frameworks. Acting as a trusted advisor, this role supports risk management across the business and fosters a culture of accountability and ethical conduct.
Key Responsibilities Strategic & Advisory
- Provide expert advice on regulatory matters, particularly within the energy market.
- Support development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
- Maintain a regulatory knowledge base for internal reference.
- Assign and manage compliance obligations across business units.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor performance of internal and outsourced activities.
- Identify and assess compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Assist with incident investigation and obligation tracking using the Archer GRC tool.
- Provide guidance on quality assurance and risk management practices.
- Understand business drivers and integrate regulatory compliance into commercial decision-making.
- Develop training and documentation to enhance compliance understanding among stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Law, Compliance, Risk Management).
- Significant years of relevant compliance or regulatory experience.
- Strong knowledge of Australian energy regulations.
- Demonstrated experience managing compliance frameworks and regulatory engagements.
- Skilled in risk assessment, internal controls (ISO 37301, AS 8000), and compliance reporting.
- Familiar with GRC tools such as Archer.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
