About The Role:
We're seeking a Product Design Lead to own and evolve the design of Rosterfy's platform. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex user problems while building and guiding design teams from the ground up.
You'll lead product design across our SaaS platform, working to address existing usability challenges while establishing mature design practices and processes. Starting with one direct report, you'll have the opportunity to grow and scale the design function as we expand.
In this role, you'll work closely with product owners and managers, engineers, and stakeholders across the business to build intuitive, elegant, and scalable solutions that serve a wide range of users—from volunteers to program leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Design Function: Own the design vision and strategy for the Rosterfy platform, balancing short-term delivery with long-term design excellence. Establish design practices, processes, and standards.
- Mentor and Manage: Provide leadership, support, and coaching to direct report(s), define ways of working, and help your team members grow and thrive. Over time, contribute to hiring and scaling the design team.
- Be Hands-On: As a player-coach, you'll design user flows and mockups, conduct research and testing, improve information architecture, and promote platform-wide usability efforts to ensure consistency across our complex multi-feature platform.
- Collaborate Deeply: Partner with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Solutions Design, and customers to translate user and business needs into intuitive, practical solutions.
- Champion Research & User-Centered Design: Leverage user feedback, data, and testing to validate ideas and inform decision making. Help create a strong research practice within the product team.
- Advance Our Design System: Maintain and improve our design system and UI/UX standards to ensure a consistent, accessible experience across the platform.
About you:
- Proven Design Leadership: 7+ years in B2B SaaS product design with 3+ years successfully leading design teams, establishing design practices, and managing designers in previous roles
- Systems Thinking: Demonstrated experience improving usability across complex, multi-feature platforms with diverse user types and workflows—ideally tackling large-scale usability challenges
- Hands-On Excellence: Strong portfolio showcasing both strategic design thinking and tactical execution on enterprise software, with clear examples of impact on user outcomes and business metrics
- Collaborative Leadership: Track record of building effective partnerships with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders while advocating for user-centered design in cross-functional environments
- Design Operations: Experience establishing design systems, processes, and research practices that scale across growing product teams, ensuring cost-efficient design investments at scale.
Nice to have:
- Experience working in a scale-up or high-growth Enterprise SaaS environment
- Background with scheduling and rostering systems, CRMs, or other complex workflow automation platforms
- Familiarity with visual workflow builders
- Experience with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
Remuneration and Benefits Package:
- Competitive salary offering
- Paid time off to participate in volunteering activities
- Referral bonuses and recognition programs
