The Mine Geologist is responsible for ensuring that all geology production tasks are executed daily in a safe, timely, efficient and quality manner in support of operational requirements.
This is a permanent, full time position ex Perth to Mt Holland on an 8:6 roster.

The Mine Geologist is responsible for ensuring that all geology production tasks are executed daily in a safe, timely, efficient and quality manner in support of operational requirements.
This is a permanent, full time position ex Perth to Mt Holland on an 8:6 roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue daily geology report and blend plan.
- Conduct Pit inspections to provide operational instructions and feedback.
- Conduct ROM and other area inspections to check truck destination compliance and crusher feed compliance.
- Provide accurate geology information to the daily production meetings.
- Develop dig blocks.
- Analyze blast movements according to the departmental procedures.
- Plan and execute ore mark-ups in a timely manner according to departmental procedures.
- Conduct geology face and floor mapping tasks and use information to update geology database.
- Conduct geology inspections of drill patterns.
- Conduct reconciliation analyses for each ore pattern.
- Provide geology inputs into daily and weekly schedules and review these to ensure that geology objectives can be achieved (tonnes and quality to ROM and plant).
- Facilitate effective / informative Pit Technician handovers between D/S & N/S.
- Prepare handover notes and roll-out to team.
- Ensure that geology tools and equipment is used and handed over to the required standards.
- Actively participate and contribute to Covalent Lithium’s health and safety culture.
- Undertake all work in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with statutory requirements and Covalent policies & procedures.
- Comply with all health and safety, environmental and regulatory policies relating to the project and ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure all health, safety and environmental incidents are reported.
- Conduct field inspections and report all hazards and incidents.
- Tertiary qualification in Geology (BSc or recognised equivalent).
- Demonstrated (2+ years) geology experience in Operations and / or Exploration Geology.
- Proficient in the use of geological software (e.g. Leapfrog, Surpac or similar).
- Analytical skills including the ability to develop and interpret geological field data.
- Awareness of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the mining industry.
- Current Drivers Licence, incl. ability to operate a manual vehicle.
