About The Role

A key role reporting to the Technical, Operational & Innovation Excellence Manage plays a key role in driving the successful planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of projects across Integrated Gas operations. Combining deep technical engineering knowledge with strong project management capabilities, this role provides expert advice, assurance, and support throughout the project lifecycle. The specialist acts as a critical partner to project teams, ensuring compliance with technical standards, regulatory requirements, and best practice project execution. Additionally, they champion continuous improvement initiatives to uplift project delivery performance across the business.

More About The Role

  • Provide expert technical advice and guidance throughout all project stages to project teams, stakeholders, and senior leaders.
  • Guide the planning and design of infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with technical, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Advise on and support project execution strategies for complex initiatives, focusing on efficient and fit-for-purpose delivery.
  • Support risk management by identifying, assessing, and recommending mitigation strategies for project risks.
  • Conduct independent project assurance reviews to assess execution performance and ensure compliance with internal governance, technical standards, and regulations.
  • Identify opportunities and lead initiatives for continuous improvement in project management frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
  • Apply innovative and detail-oriented problem-solving to enhance processes and deliver high-quality outputs.

More About You 

  • 15+ years of experience in a similar role
  • A qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., civil, mechanical, electrical) with strong practical application experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices.
  • Project Management Capability: Proven experience managing or advising on large-scale, complex projects, including proficiency in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, and lifecycle management.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to navigate complexity, resolve technical and project challenges, and drive outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Exceptional communication skills to influence internal and external stakeholders, along with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively both independently and within teams, with strong leadership qualities and a commitment to fostering collaboration and mentoring others.
