Position Summary

As part of the Capella Sydney Security Team, you will be responsible for the safety and security of all Hotel guests, employees, and assets. The position requires accountable and mature individuals with the ability to work unsupervised and possess outstanding customer service skills, as well as the ability to quickly and effectively problem-solve. Whilst this is an autonomous position, the role will require the person to be a team player as part of the elite security team, which is able to work cohesively with all Capella departments. Our Security team assists all departments where required to ensure seamless guest service in a secure environment.

Working daily, seven days a week, with seven days off. Applicants must be prepared to work a rotating roster, which includes night shifts, weekends, and public holidays, and be available at peak trading times. Overtime is available.

The Role

  • Monitors and controls visitors’ and contractors’ permit and security check procedures, as well as loss prevention requirements for the Hotel.
  • Report any issues or damages to the relevant department to ensure that facilities and service amenities within the Hotel are defect-free.
  • Conducts security rounds and building inspections to comply with Capella Standards. Maintains Hotel's product knowledge, Room standards and cooperation with Rooms Division and all Hotel's colleagues.
  • Supports, manages and handles all Fire and Life Safety complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts.
  • Monitors CCTV and controls operations center accurately reports as required.
  • Ensure that the security department operates within the bounds of legality and conformity to established regulations. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities;
  • Reading professional publications; maintaining personal network: participating in professional development activities.
  • Professionally conducts day-to-day security operations as directed, in response to any onsite emergency or first-aid requirements.

Talent Profile

  • General Education Certification/Diploma
  • 1AE security license preferred
  • Minimum 3 years in the security industry
  • First Aid certified training and CPR/AED experienced and certified
  • Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Effective communication skills
  • Valid working rights in Australia
