Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis:
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preparing large and complex datasets from a variety of sources (internal and external) for use in analytical models and economic forecasting.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data that can inform business decisions.
- Support the validation and reconciliation of inconsistent or incomplete data, using logic and checks to improve the quality and reliability of analytical inputs
- Support the development of statistical and machine learning models under the guidance of senior team members.
- Help automate recurring reporting and data workflows using appropriate tools and platforms.
- Contribute to internal efforts to improve productivity and data quality, such as developing reusable components, templates, or validation checks.
- Develop generative AI tools which are accessible and useful for economists and other internal users.
- Create visualizations and dashboards (e.g., using Tableau PowerBi, Excel, or Python libraries) to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build and maintain clear, reproducible, and well-documented code using Python, SQL, or other relevant tools
- Document data sources, assumptions, methodologies, and model results to ensure clarity and reproducibility.
- Stay current with developments in data science, economic analysis, and automation tools relevant to the team’s work.
- Collaborate with data scientists, economists, and analysts to define project goals and deliver well-structured analytical outputs.
- Assist in distilling complex analytical findings into clear summaries or presentation materials to support internal decision-making and external communication.
- Develop an understanding of the broader business and policy context behind the analysis, helping ensure work is aligned with client needs and real-world applications.
- Show initiative in identifying potential improvements to processes, tools, or methodologies, and be curious about learning new approaches or technologies.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in relevant field (e.g. Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics)
- Proficient in Data Programming Languages, particularly Python
- Detail-oriented, organized, and possesses finely tuned skills in data collection and compiling information
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
