About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced and qualified Maintenance Fitter for our North Melbourne site. This role will be responsible for working on scheduled and preventative maintenance within the site, as well as attending to breakdown responses to support business operations

Reporting to the site Maintenance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out daily servicing, repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment as scheduled by the Maintenance Planner
  • Be actively involved in plant improvements and projects
  • Maintain a proactive safety attitude and follow safety protocols (e.g., LOTO, permits)
  • Work with and assist other team members as required e.g. two people, fabrication (hot work) or heavy-duty mechanical skills
  • Respond promptly to breakdown calls, evaluate causes, and implement solutions in coordination with production staff
  • Carry out minor electrical tasks i.e. disconnects - reconnects, resets, in line with relevant electrical qualifications, if needed

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be required to possess:

  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g. Mechanical Fitter & Turner)
  • Restricted Electrical licence (Desirable)
  • Experience in FMCG or manufacturing (maintaining Flour Milling equipment is desirable)
  • Relevant licences and tickets e.g. Confined space, Forklift, Working at heights, Elevated work platform (Desirable)
  • Strong communication skills with an all-inclusive approach to dealing with peers and operations personnel at all levels in the business
