About the role
Under the guidance of the HR Manager, the Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing Specialist is responsible for fostering a culture of safety, health, and wellbeing across the organisation. This role develops and implements strategies, policies, and programs to ensure compliance with WHS and workers compensation legislation, reduce workplace risks, and enhance employee wellbeing. Collaborating with stakeholders, the specialist leads risk assessments, incident investigations, manages return to work portfolio and WHS initiatives while providing expert guidance to employees and leaders.
The Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing Specialist promotes the mission and values (hospitality, respect, healing, and stewardship) of Calvary through promoting wellbeing initiatives and modelling safety leadership.
About you:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS or experience in a related discipline or equivalent work experience in a related discipline, or a combination of study and work experience
Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, ISO 45001 standards, and regulatory requirements and proven experience in leading incident investigations, audits, and risk assessments
Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver, and evaluate WHS and wellbeing training programs
Proven experience in effectively managing workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presentations, and data analysis for informed decision-making
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
High-level organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work within the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care Kogarah
