About Us – Unisson Disability

At Unisson, we believe disability doesn’t define anyone. With over 100 years of experience, we’ve supported people with disability to live fulfilling, independent lives. Our name pays tribute to our beginnings – with the double “S” symbolising our original name, Sunshine, and the vision of our founder, Dr. Lorna Hodgkinson.

About The Role

We’re seeking for a committed Female Disability Support Worker to join our supportive teams across two services located in Fletcher and Thornton. In this role, you’ll assist a group of clients with intellectual disabilities who live together in a shared home. They enjoy engaging in creative and sensory activities, cooking, spending time with loved ones, and getting out into the community. You’ll be a key part of helping them achieve greater independence and joy in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Deliver person-centred support aligned with each client’s goals and support plans
  • Assist with daily personal care tasks (e.g., toileting, showering, dressing)
  • Use safe manual handling techniques in accordance with individual plans
  • Facilitate community access and transport using Unisson vehicles or public transport
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, families, and external stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and records
  • Work collaboratively within a close-knit team
  • Respond appropriately to incidents in line with Unisson and NDIS guidelines

Who We’re Looking For

  • Willing to work sleepover shifts (2.00pm – 10.00pm), early morning shifts (6.00an – 10.00am), including weekends and public holidays
  • Hold a valid NSW Driver’s Licence (P2/full) and are confident driving Unisson vehicles
  • Energetic, compassionate, and emotionally resilient
  • Experienced in disability support (preferred)
  • Qualified with Cert III/IV in Disability (desirable)

Why Join Us?

  • Generous salary packaging to boost your take-home pay
  • 17.5% annual leave loading
  • Wellbeing leave + option to cash out annual leave
  • Employee Assistance Program for you and your family
  • Flexible work options and individualised training
