Job Description

The IT Support Administrator provides advanced technical support, coordinates with cross-functional teams, and implements system improvements across BUCK’s campuses. This role is responsible for

overseeing technical escalations, refining support processes, and working closely with team members to ensure all IT resources are aligned with BUCK’s operational and creative needs.

This role requires being on-premises in our Sydney studio and requires a blend of technical skills and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Promptly troubleshoot and creatively resolve issues related to software, hardware, and overall systems, prioritizing challenges encountered by artists and developers.
  • Adapt or enhance systems to align with the changing demands of production.
  • Provide consistent production support using various mediums, including Slack, ZenDesk, email, and direct interactions.
  • Diligently monitor critical systems and address arising technical complications.
  • Engage consistently with Artists and Producers, aiming to provide innovative solutions to intricate technical challenges.
  • Oversee and optimize network, storage configurations, backend servers, and deployment tools to promote operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Experience or a strong interest in production pipeline processes, particularly in areas such as automation, render management, and configuration management.
  • Good understanding of modern ML / AI tools and workflows used in creative or post-production environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of operating systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of graphic software, notably Maya, Nuke, C4D, and After Effects.
  • Strong understanding of data-center infrastructure—including power, cooling, high-speed networking, and storage systems.
  • Prior involvement within a technical systems team, ideally one that managed diverse graphic workstations and video tools.
  • Outstanding communication skills paired with adept project management capabilities.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to foresee production hurdles and initiate effective solutions.
  • Precision, attention to detail, and a robust organizational acumen.
  • Knowledge of common security frameworks such as NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, and MPA/TPN content-security requirements.
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python) a plus

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess Knowledge In

  • Platform Standardization and OS builds.
  • System Management, including RenderFarms (with an emphasis on Saltstack/Deadline Groups/Database Management).
  • AD/OU administration and/or OKTA administration
  • Remote tools such as PCoiP, Parsec, NICE DCV, etc
  • Familiarity with automation and Orchestration strategies including Kubernetes or Docker.
  • Cloud tools such as AWS/GCP/Azure
  • Basic networking capabilities, spanning both Layer 2 & 3 switch configurations.
  • Production storage system configuration and maintenance including NAS/SAN/S3.
  • Support for Backup and Archive software.
  • Initiative in project proposals and dedication to research and design.
