We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic water team and lead the mechanical discipline on water projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to guide and develop a team while delivering innovative design solutions for water infrastructure projects. The Opportunity

- You will lead the mechanical discipline on water and wastewater treatment projects of this nature, from concept design to detailed design.
- You will also have opportunities to apply your mechanical engineering skills across other industries such as energy, industrial and large scale infrastructure, if you desire.
- You will help grow and guide the mechanical engineering team, contributing to their development and success.
- You will represent Arup at internal and external meetings and take a strategic approach to business development, including developing compelling bids that address the needs of water authorities, contractors and other clients.
- Manage significant projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and with high technical quality.
- Negotiate with clients and suppliers to ensure favourable terms to deliver project outcomes, managing budgets and resources effectively.
Is this role right for you
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
- Extensive experience in mechanical engineering design for water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in guiding and developing teams in a consulting environment.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and industry practices, with a focus on water projects.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage complex projects and client relationships.
