About The Team

The Customer Compliance Performance team is undergoing significant transformation, creating exciting new opportunities to join at a pivotal time, where you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact. This team provides specialist compliance expertise to the Customer Business Unit, supporting effective compliance management and ensuring EnergyAustralia’s regulatory obligations, governance systems, processes, and frameworks meet both industry standards and customer expectations. About The Role

Due to an internal secondment, we have a unique opportunity to join our Customer Compliance Performance team in the role of New Regulatory Pipeline Lead. A critical role in an industry with a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, you will lead the business impact assessment and response of regulatory changes across the customer business—ensuring new requirements are identified, assessed, communicated, and implemented effectively.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead comprehensive business impact assessments across customer, ensuring clear identification of change impacts upstream and downstream and delivery of practical, effective solution
  • Act as the Product Manager for our Regulatory Change Delivery Program (known internally as Everest) collaboratively with technology
  • Creating cohesive yet flexible and time sensitive plans / approaches for delivering changes, ensuring projects and initiatives are effectively resourced
  • Proactively identify risks and potential roadblocks, helping us reach compliance goals in a harmonious way
  • Ensure effective controls are established to support ongoing compliance in conjunction with Compliance Performance
  • Build strong relationships with sponsors and stakeholders, influence decision-making, and keep the business aligned and informed through tailored change and communications plans and ensure a smooth transition to business-as-usual

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in regulatory change, compliance and risk roles within the energy industry (retail industry experience highly sort after). Other key traits and attributes include:

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated success in project management and delivering regulatory changes from planning through to embedding
  • Proven ability to negotiate regulatory "must-haves" versus "nice-to-haves", ensuring a value-based, risk-aligned approach to compliance that balances regulatory intent with practical business impact
  • Ability to assess competing demands, manage pipeline priorities, and design effective sequencing of delivery.
  • Naturally frames decisions through a customer and business value lens, even in highly compliance-driven contexts.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams within complex, matrix delivery environment.

Please note, this is a 2 year fixed-term contract opportunity.
