The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant (Regulatory Reporting) for a 12 month max term opportunity to join our Corporate Services team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, External Reporting, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the transparency and quality of financial data reported to APRA and ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations. This position is a 12-month max term opportunity, perfect for someone looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and coordinate quarterly and annual APRA returns.
  • Assist in the coordination of deliverables with external bodies such as the Fund's custodian, auditors, and actuaries.
  • Prepare key Fund data, including ABI/VBI calculations and reserve balances.
  • Support the development and monitoring of APRA regulatory reporting frameworks.
  • Implement Phase II APRA SDT reporting policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Execute process improvements to enhance automation, transparency, and auditability.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist with month-end close processes, including journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and project accounting.


About You:

  • CA or CPA qualification is essential.
  • Experience in finance, preferably with a background in a big 4 professional services firm.
  • Knowledge of superannuation, investment accounting, or financial services industry.
  • Experience in APRA reporting.
  • Strong accounting skills and knowledge of accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in Excel and strong spreadsheeting skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to see the big picture.
  • Excellent prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills regarding regulatory requirements.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and communicate at all levels.
  • A strong team player.
