About The Role

As the Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Corporate Affairs Group.

As the Diversity & Inclusion Specialist, you will play a key role in driving meaningful change across the organisation by supporting the implementation of inclusive strategies and initiatives. Working closely with the Head of Diversity & Inclusion, you will help foster a workplace culture that values diversity, promotes equity, and celebrates the unique contributions of all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on the design and delivery of D&I strategies that enhance workplace inclusion and belonging.
  • Develop and facilitate training programs on diversity awareness and inclusive practices, informed by best practice and cultural sensitivity.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of D&I initiatives using data-driven insights and stakeholder reporting.
  • Lead communication campaigns that showcase diversity efforts, success stories, and inclusive practices.
  • Support employee resource groups and working groups, providing intersectional insights and guidance.
  • Organise events and workshops tailored to diverse audiences to promote inclusion across the organisation.
  • Stay up to date with sector trends and best practices to continuously improve program quality.
  • Partner with internal teams to embed D&I principles into recruitment, talent management, and organisational culture.


Site visits & the requirement to travel

This role requires travel to our stations throughout regional Victoria. It’s a great way to get out to see our beautiful State!

The role is primarily based at our 452 Flinders Street office, however will require travel to the regions as required to engage with stakeholders and deliver training.

About You

You are a passionate and strategic D&I professional with a strong foundation in inclusive practices and a commitment to creating equitable workplaces. You bring a blend of analytical thinking, facilitation expertise, and interpersonal skills that enable you to drive meaningful change across diverse teams.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in diversity and inclusion, HR, or organisational development
  • Skilled in designing and delivering inclusive training and workshops, with strong presentation and facilitation abilities.
  • Proficient in data analysis and visualisation, using insights to inform strategy and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to connect across diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of current D&I trends, legislation, and best practices, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with a commitment to fostering safe, respectful, and values-driven workplace cultures.
  • Demonstrated alignment with V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
