Accounts Payable Officer | KU Children’s Services

The Role:

We are seeking an detail orientated Accounts Payable Officer to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth processing of invoices and payments, contributing to the financial health of KU Children’s Services.

This is an engaging full-time permanent opportunity to join our finance team. You will be based in our sunlit support office in the Sydney CBD, right next to Town Hall and the QVB in the heart of the city. This role will see you join the team, Monday to Friday, with the benefit of accruing a Monthly Paid Rostered Day Off (RDO). Hybrid working arrangements are part of our culture and to be discussed post successful completion of the probation period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collate and process approved invoices, ensuring these invoices have been approved in accordance with the KU Delegations Manual and/or Oracle Workflow Process
  • Inspect invoices to ensure that they are valid tax invoices, ensuring correct treatment of GST when processing invoices
  • Collection and sorting of daily Finance mail
  • Check and Process staff expenses
  • Assist with Supplier Onboarding/set up
  • Assist with preparing payment runs of invoices
  • Check and prepare parent refunds as per spreadsheets
  • Reconcile creditor statements and follow up on discrepancies
  • Follow up on issues with invoices in a timely fashion
  • Assist with the Accounts Payable email inboxes, save all invoices and parent refunds and follow up on enquiries
  • Assist with Direct Debit processing
  • Assist the Finance team with accruals for year end
  • Assist the Finance team responding to Audit requests
  • Provide Assistance with ad-hoc projects and reporting as required

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Understanding, experience and involvement in end- to-end Accounts Payable environment.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Finance Payables, AP invoice (non-PO), Oracle IDR exp. Preferred.
  • Customer Service and Time Management skills.
  • Accurate and Efficient Data Entry skills, with attention to detail along with basic understanding of expense prepayments, and expense accruals.
  • Positive, can-do attitude, strong work ethic, including ability to work to month end tight deadlines.
  • Engaged and committed to achieve excellence and outcome oriented
  • Flexible – ability to adapt prior learning and experience to a new business context
  • High level of personal enthusiasm, initiative and drive
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work autonomously and within a team.
