The Role

We’re looking for a proactive and driven Senior Accountant to join our small, inclusive and high-performing Finance team. In this newly created role, you’ll have the opportunity to directly influence the strategic direction of a growing health organisation, while also supporting the day-to-day financial operations.

This is a role for someone who enjoys both detail and big-picture thinking. You’ll be hands-on with month-end processes, support budgeting and forecasting, and partner with teams across the business to drive continuous improvement and commercial insight.

The successful candidate will be required to hold the following qualifications and/or certifications:

  • CPA or CA qualification (or working toward)
  • Minimum 2 years’ post- university qualification experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and principles
  • Advanced Excel skills and systems proficiency (Xero experience desirable)
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
  • Previous payroll experience desirable
  • Health industry experience highly regarded

The Day-to-Day

The Senior Accountant Will Hold Responsibility For The Following Tasks And These Will Make Up The Majority Of The Work For The Successful Candidate

  • Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting including journal entries and workpapers
  • Maintain the general ledger and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Process intercompany journals and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly payroll journals and accruals (AL/LSL)
  • Support the year-end audit process for the Group
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Prepare BAS, FBT, and PRT returns
  • Contribute to banking and treasury functions
  • Provide financial and commercial support to key internal stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to Group financial policies and procedures
  • Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function
  • Take initiative on ad-hoc projects as needed
