Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Accessibility Consultant to join our team at NCS Australia. This role is instrumental in ensuring that digital platforms are usable by individuals of all abilities, aligning with best practices and compliance standards.

As an Accessibility Consultant, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to embed accessibility into the design and development lifecycle. You will conduct accessibility audits, provide expert guidance on remediation strategies, and deliver training to build internal capability. Your work will directly contribute to creating digital experiences that are inclusive, legally compliant, and user-friendly for all users.

Please note: This position is offered on a contract basis. Applicants must be available to work as contractors. Contract duration and terms will be discussed during the selection process.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in digital accessibility consulting, testing, or inclusive design.
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ARIA, and assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, keyboard navigation).
  • Experience conducting accessibility audits and providing remediation guidance.
  • Familiarity with automated and manual testing tools (e.g., AXE, WAVE, Lighthouse).
  • Ability to communicate complex accessibility issues clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working on government or large-scale digital projects is highly desirable.
  • Relevant certifications such as CPACC, WAS, or CPWA are a strong advantage.
  • Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and quality assurance frameworks.
