Our stunning Gordon Lodge, located at the Air Force Memorial Estate in Bull Creek, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Clinical Care Manager to work in close collaboration with our Residential Aged Care Manager. Providing leadership and support to the multidisciplinary team in all clinical and care related activities, this position will ensure the desired care outcomes are achieved for Gordon Lodge’s 60 residents.

The Role Of The Clinical Care Manager

  • Provide leadership and support to the multidisciplinary team in all clinical and care related activities including, but not limited to, person-centred care, the management of acute and complex clinical conditions, audits, research, medication management, nutrition and clinical incident.
  • Lead, manage and develop the Registered and Enrolled Nurses to achieve optional performance and potential in a manner that supports staff to be empowered.
  • Act as a positive role model for RAAFA’s values at all times.
  • Ensure all service delivery is provided in collaboration with health providers and allied health services.
  • Be responsible for the clinical quality management system and monitor the standard of care provision. Lead the team in reviewing and identifying issues/risks such as medication errors, increases in falls, infections, behaviours or other clinical issues as identified.
  • Support the Residential Aged Care Manager in budgeting, annual financial and operational planning.
  • Provide regular on-call support to site staff out of hours in conjunction with the Residential Aged Care Manager
  • Act in the Residential Aged Care Manager role during periods of leave and as required.

To Be Successful In This Role

  • Previous experience in a similar role and/or significant experience in the Aged Care industry.
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Flexible approach paired with decision making, negotiation, influencing and advanced problem-solving skills to innovatively manage the clinical outcomes of the Facility.
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical governance, Aged Care Accreditation requirements and knowledge of AnAcc assessment.
  • Experience in using an electronic care management system, preferably iCare and the Microsoft Windows suite of tools including Excel
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills that delivers effective leadership, builds and develops teamwork.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting, managing, leading and mentoring a large team inclusive of clinical and care staff.
  • A passion for working in Aged Care and genuine care and respect for older people.
