What's the role?
Based in Pyrmont and reporting to the Finance Manager - Medium Rare, this role will support commercial partnering at News Corp Australia’s Content Agencies (Medium Rare, Medium Rare NZ, Storyation and Suddenly). Our content agencies are among the largest in Australia serving brands like Qantas, Coles, Bunnings, Chemist Warehouse and CBA. The businesses are on track for double digital growth in FY25 and are a critical part of News Australia’s growth aspirations with new initiatives in the pipeline. You will partner with the business to understand current performance and provide financial insights to make informed business decisions.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone in the early stages of their career who is looking for guidance, support and the chance to accelerate their skills and development. Responsibilities
- Month end close activities including client billings, reconciliations, journals and incentive calculations
- Maintain and manage aged debtors
- Manage account enquiries from the sales teams and News Corp shared service team
- Support preparation of month end management reports, budgets and rolling forecasts with variance analysis
- Monitor financial performance and identify risks and opportunities
- Provide commentary on business unit performance including profitability by client
- Continue to simplify processes and work on a project to further automate billings
- Month end P&L reviews and reviewing and business partnering with senior leaders on results.
- End to end finance support (including balance sheet reviews, banking, taxation and payroll) for Medium Rare NZ
- Working on cost initiatives with business partners and reviewing P&L impacts.
- CA/CPA qualified with a strong foundation in financial and management accounting
- Strong commercial acumen & professional accounting competency
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Self-starter with a commercial approach to business
- Resilient with an ability to manage competing deadlines
