Objectives of this role

Reporting to the Department Head, the Senior Consultant plays a key role across Curio by delivering expert services, advice, and strategic guidance to clients within a particular field or industry. The role involves managing day-to-day project delivery, leading project teams, and advising clients on best practice to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

In addition to technical expertise, the Senior Consultant helps build and maintain strong client relationships, identifies new business opportunities, and contributes to the successful delivery of projects.

Internally, the Senior Consultant is a key influencer of Curio’s culture, values, and reputation. They help set the tone across teams and support colleagues in aligning with Curio’s mission and vision.

Overall, the role is focused on delivering exceptional client experiences, helping clients meet their goals, and improving performance through services, advice, and support.

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Manage client relationships and ensure satisfaction throughout project or program delivery
  • Plan and execute projects, including defining scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables
  • Coordinate and lead project teams to ensure work is delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities and supporting proposal development
  • Deliver high-quality services, conduct project debriefs, and ensure all deliverables meet expectations
  • Maintain quality control by reviewing outputs, providing feedback, and ensuring alignment with standards
  • Lead, mentor, and support junior team members, fostering growth and capability development
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging methodologies, and technologies relevant to the field
  • Contribute to thought leadership by sharing insights and expertise internally and externally

Skills and Qualifications 

  • A bachelor’s degree, with professional experience in the education sector
  • Proven experience designing human-centred learning experiences and developing online learning, applying knowledge of learning theories, assessment standards, pedagogical practice, and the integration of educational technologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think adaptively and innovatively using a design thinking approach
  • Proficiency in a range of digital education technologies used in curriculum design, including learning management systems, audiovisual tools, and interactive media
  • Demonstrated initiative and autonomy, with a proactive mindset focused on continuous learning and development
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and external stakeholders across all levels
  • Ability to communicate complex educational ideas clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively in team environments to achieve high-quality outcomes, including through the use of online communication and collaboration tools
  • A minimum of 4+ years’ experience in similar roles, ideally progressing toward or within a senior consultant capacity
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including report writing, workshop facilitation, and contribution to proposal development
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated commitment to service excellence, relationship building, and continuous improvement

This is a full-time hybrid opportunity open to candidates ideally based in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, or Perth. Applicants must possess the right to work in Australia without any restrictions.
