Our services have a strong focus on prevention and early intervention and enable access to safe accommodation options, Holistic case management, community outreach programs and programs that teach vital independent living skills. About The Role

As a Youth and Family Counsellor, this is your opportunity to support young people at risk of homelessness through safe, inclusive counselling, and to work closely with families and schools to meet student needs. Reporting to the Reconnect Co-ordinator, this is a Permanent Part-Time role, located in Blacktown, NSW.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans to support young people in the Reconnect program
  • Build strong rapport with young people, their families, and caregivers to provide inclusive and effective support
  • Provide counselling and family mediation to improve individual wellbeing and family relationships
  • Offer appropriate referrals and work collaboratively with internal and external service providers
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with schools and community agencies to support program outcomes

What You Will Bring

  • A Tertiary qualification in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work or a related field
  • Registration with relevant professional association (i.e. ACA, PACFA, AHPRA, ASWA)
  • Demonstrated experience in counselling intervention to young people and/or families
  • A current driver's licence
  • Proof of covid-19 Vaccination

Compensation is in accordance with Health Professional Employees Award lvl 3
