We're looking for an Enterprise Architect who can effectively contribute to the successful delivery of the Council's technology work plan, ensuring high-quality outcomes and adherence to project timelines and budgets.

Role
The primary objective is to secure a skilled Enterprise Architect who can effectively contribute to the successful delivery of the Council's technology work plan, ensuring high-quality outcomes and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management
· Technology oversight of the practice areas of network infrastructure, business engagement, and cyber security.
· Offer strategic architectural guidance to council leadership, delivering a clear and actionable roadmap to ensure alignment of projects and programs with council goals, especially ERP-related initiatives.
· Serve as an Infrastructure Architect as required to support and maintain existing systems, ensuring continuity and stability.
· Oversee and manage Solution Architecture to ensure cohesive and integrated system designs.
· Ensure strategic alignment with the architectural roadmap, including ERP integration, securing necessary funding, and avoiding technology debt to facilitate reinvestment.
2. Enterprise Architecture Alignment
· Aligning the Enterprise Architecture (EA) with the current state solution architecture, including a technology catalogue that identifies:
§ Systems to retire
§ Systems to retain
§ Areas to invest in
§ New systems to introduce
3. Solution Options Analysis
· Evaluate potential vendor partnerships to ensure alignment with the future state architecture.
· Thoroughly examining integration, data flow, and service delivery within the architecture.
· Perform market scans and present viable options to enhance the council's core capabilities.
4. Cyber Security Management
· Lead and manage cyber security initiatives in collaboration with the Cyber Security Lead.
· Develop and implement a comprehensive cyber security strategy that aligns with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
· Develop and enforce cyber security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and industry standards.
5. IT Infrastructure and Network Management
· Developing and implementing a comprehensive IT infrastructure and network strategy that aligns with organisational goals.
· Oversee the design of the organisation's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and data centres, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
· Ensure systems are designed for reliability, security, and performance, and manage the lifecycle of IT assets effectively.
· Oversee the design and maintenance of the organisation's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, ensuring alignment with architectural designs.
· Developing and enforcing IT infrastructure and network security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
· Developing and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity plans for IT infrastructure and networks.
6. IT Business Partner Practice
· Overseeing the adoption of new technologies within the business units, managing change, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
· Own and manage the Architectural Review Board to ensure governance and alignment with architectural standards.
· Develop a Business Engagement Plan for building and managing relationships between the business and IT, including demand.
7. Deliverables
· Develop and maintain a clear and actionable roadmap for aligning projects and programs with council goals, particularly ERP-related initiatives.
· Develop and maintain comprehensive catalogue identifying systems to retire, retain, invest in, and introduce.
· Develop and maintain a robust cyber security strategy and risk management framework.
· Develop and maintain a comprehensive strategy for IT infrastructure and network operations.
· Outline the quality assurance processes that will be implemented to ensure high standards are maintained.
Required:
The Enterprise Architect should possess:
- Working with Children Check is required
Industry Certifications
- Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar are often required
Technical Skills
- Architecture Frameworks: Proficiency in TOGAF, Zachman, or similar frameworks.
- Cloud Technologies: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Software Development: Knowledge of software development methodologies and tools.
Educational Background
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
