SQL Database Administrator

Key activities

• Design, install, and maintain SQL Server database environments
• Proactively monitor and tune performance, index strategies, and query plans
• Execute robust backup and disaster recovery strategies (e.g., Always On, Log Shipping)
• Enforce data security, access controls, and compliance policies
• Troubleshoot issues across complex environments and support on-call rosters
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and security teams
  
  

Skills And Experience

• Proven expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (design, performance tuning, admin)
• Proficient in SSMS, Profiler, and Database Engine Tuning Advisor
• Experience with high availability setups and failover clusters
• Strong understanding of T-SQL scripting and automation
• Excellent troubleshooting and cross-functional communication skills
• NV1 security clearance (or Baseline with ability to upgrade)
• Microsoft SQL Server certifications (e.g., Azure DBA Associate) will be highly regarded
