About The Role

As an APS6 Project Officer, you will be accountable for leading and supporting projects under limited direction. You will coordinate strategic planning, program and project management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the successful delivery of initiatives. This role offers the chance to work on high-impact projects that align with the agency’s mission to build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project plans and schedules in line with the agency’s framework.
  • Provide specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
  • Undertake evaluation and analysis, including drafting reports on project activities.
  • Monitor and report on processes supporting critical work delivery.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather input and provide updates.
  • Prepare written materials such as briefs, reports, and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and manage project risks and issues.
  • Ensure project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet agency needs.

Skills And Experience

  • Proficiency in applying project management methodologies to plan, monitor, and deliver work packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong experience in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills based on evidence and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications in social services, government administration, or project management, OR equivalent professional experience.

  • Security Clearance: Baseline clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain).
