The Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Head of Strategic Growth Initiatives to develop and commercialise new strategic partnerships across emerging and untapped market verticals. This is a pivotal role at Banjo Loans, designed to turbocharge our next phase of growth by identifying, building, and launching new ecosystem and channel partnerships that align to our mission.
The successful candidate will thrive on both the “hunting” aspect of identifying and securing new partners and the “farming” aspect of commercialising these relationships — from project managing product development through to activation, launch, and ongoing optimisation.
This role is highly collaborative, sitting at the intersection of sales, innovation, and execution, and reports directly to our Chief Commercial Officer, whilst working closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and secure new strategic partnerships in priority verticals to significantly extend Banjo’s reach and impact.
- Develop and execute partnership strategies – including the initial approach, negotiation, deal structuring, and ongoing relationship management.
- Project manage the end-to-end commercialisation of new partnerships, including market research, business case development, launch planning, and measurement.
- Work cross-functionally with teams across Product, Marketing, Sales, Credit, and Finance to design and build lending solutions tailored to the needs of new partners and their customers.
- Own go-to-market strategy and activation in close partnership with Marketing – collaborating on joint campaigns, assets, content, and enablement for partner channels.
- Coordinate with the Sales and Credit teams to ensure seamless application processing, customer journey, and loan approvals coming through new partner channels.
- Lead product development initiatives needed to fill partner and customer needs, collaborating with internal Product, Finance, and Credit teams.
- Track, analyse, and report on partnership performance; actively optimise approaches to maximise value for Banjo and its partners.
- Demonstrated experience in securing, building, and managing strategic partnerships – ideally within financial services, fintech, or technology-enabled B2B environments.
- Track record of commercialising new products or channels – from conception through to launch and optimisation.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Highly effective project manager, adept at multi-tasking and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong communicator, influencer, and relationship builder, equally comfortable engaging with C-level executives and front-line teams.
- Data-driven and comfortable using insights to iterate and improve partnership performance.
- Experience across lending, product management, or SME-focused financial solutions highly regarded.
