About The Role

As the Signal Supervisor, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Network Maintenance Group.

You’ll report directly to the Regional Asset Manager and be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of signalling assets within your region. This hands-on leadership role involves planning, monitoring, and delivering maintenance and renewal activities while supporting the development and implementation of asset strategies.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Support the Regional Asset Manager in delivering asset renewal activities and maintaining compliance with maintenance standards and schedules.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of maintenance and renewal works, including preparation and review of isolation plans and support for track closure activities.
  • Use diagnostic systems and technical expertise to identify, analyse, and resolve faults and failures in signalling systems and equipment.
  • Lead and support a team of technical staff, including rostering, attendance management, and return-to-work coordination for direct reports.
  • Promote a positive and safe working environment, ensuring team compliance with safety procedures and operational policies.
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports on incidents, maintenance activities, and technical issues to support operational transparency and continuous improvement.

Your strong technical expertise is matched by your commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • At least 5 years' experience as a Signal Maintenance Technician
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to supervise and support technical teams.
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Cert IV in Railway Signalling
  • Diploma in Railway Signalling (Desirable)
  • Valid Driver's Licence
