The Role
Our Port Melbourne site is not only the home of Vegemite it is also the home of other Australian iconic products, such as Bega Peanut Butter, Bega Simply Nuts, Zoosh and Cream Cheese. VEGEMITE has been proudly made in Port Melbourne, Australia since 1923.

We are looking for a new Environmental Specialist who will review, develop and implement environmental business and site improvements throughout Bega Group. This role involves driving environmental management capability, to minimise environmental impacts and improve resource efficiency. We are also looking for someone who is good at audits and reporting.

If you have a background in environmental mgmt., science or engineering and are passionate about the environment, this could be the role for you!


Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance and implementation of Bega ISO 14001:2015 accreditation
  • Manage audits, certifications, assurance and capability programs to assess organisational performance
  • Identify and manage environmental risk to ensure group compliance with the provisions of all legislation and governance.
  • Review and analyse Bega environmental data for regulatory reporting compliance.
  • Collaborate and lead cross functionally to identify and implement environmental projects that deliver to strategic environmental objectives

About you

  • Detailed working knowledge of analysis and reporting
  • Good communication skills and the ability to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including influencing skills.
  • Solid computer skills and able to pick up new programmes fast
  • Prior experience in FMCG is desirable
