The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our Specialist Clinics. As the frontline of all interactions, you will be responsible of providing high quality customer service for all patients. This role will see you managing a busy front desk reception, welcoming patients to the Clinic, supporting our health professionals as well as general administration duties.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated, an excellent communicator with the ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment.


How this role makes a difference

The Medical Receptionist plays an integral role in our Specialist Clinics’ Reception and Administration team, supporting a large and busy clinical service extending across a range of different specialties and service areas including diabetes, cardiology, respiratory medicine and weight management.

You will become a valued member of our innovative team at the Institute. Through this key role, you can contribute to our vision to help people to live healthier for longer, and to stop heart disease and diabetes in their tracks.

How you’ll make an impact

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Manage reception duties in a timely and professional manner.
  • Co-ordinate appointments for all medical services.
  • Process incoming faxes/emails.
  • Provide comprehensive capture of billable services, timely invoicing and identification as well as management of outstanding invoices using electronic medical record.
  • Ensure waiting rooms are always kept clean and tidy.

What will you bring?

You will have:

  • Experience working in a busy specialist clinic, including reception duties.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent time management skills including being able to appropriately prioritise a range of tasks.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Intermediate understanding and experience using Windows based software including Microsoft Office Suite, Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy requirements.
