About the Role
Seeking to take the next step in your career and explore diverse opportunities within an organisation that’s transforming their External Affairs function? We have a unique opportunity for a highly organised and detail-oriented External Affairs Performance Specialist to join our expanding team located in Perth and support our national External Affairs Director and sub-function leaders in ensuring our external engagement efforts are efficient, accountable and strategically aligned
In this newly created role built on purpose, you will use your initiative and passion for excellence towards coordinating the functions priorities whilst being a link across three layers of critical deliverables including global, regional and local programs. This includes supporting Alcoa’s six Australian operations whilst contributing to global initiatives where you will coordinate and monitor functional projects across Government Affairs, Corporate Affairs, Social Performance, Heritage and Indigenous Engagement
Your key purpose and activities will be:
- Leading the coordination and tracking of business plan actions and establish and maintain a systematic and effective External Affairs PMO
- Assist the national Director and sub-function leaders with monitoring External Affairs projects and ensure the smooth operation of the leadership team by coordinating meeting agendas, budgets, materials and schedules
- Preparing high-impact presentations and reports that communicate progress, performance, and achievements to senior leaders and stakeholders
- Supporting the team with local, national and global reporting and certification requirements (e.g. ASI, ICMM, GISTM) with precision and foresight
- Enhancing internal communication and stakeholder engagement by producing informative content, fostering internal networks, and working closely with the national Director to advance strategic External Affairs priorities that strengthen Alcoa’s reputation

- Strong exposure and experience to executive support, external relations, government affairs, business or social performance whilst having worked within a similar industry in natural resources or government relations
- Expertise in KPI management and performance reporting across both corporate and operational environments, with a sound understanding of Alcoa's value chain
- Proven experience in financial oversight, including budget management and a developed level of understanding of finance and management accounting
- Advanced analytical thinking, with the ability to manage time effectively and solve complex problems under pressure
- Strengths in communication and report writing, with an ability to build positive relationships and convey information clearly across multiple organisational levels
- Tertiary qualifications in any field would be desirable with a strong preference for backgrounds in Business, Politics, or Communications
