We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Production Engineer to join our Underground team at Tropicana Gold Mine.
The role can pave the way for growth and lead to other opportunities for any Senior Engineer, looking to take that next step in utilising their First Class Mine Managers Ticket. The position carries statutory management responsibilities in the absence of the Underground Manager
This permanent position is accountable to the Manager: Mining and is offered on an appealing 8 days on /6 days off FIFO basis from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
Role Purpose:
To coordinate, manage and mentor the Mining Engineers in relation to drilling and blasting activities to achieve schedule targets. Responsible for providing technical expertise, support, and ongoing
development of the Production team.

Accountabilities:
- Be an active safety leader in line with the company values, policies and procedures
- Provide statutory coverage and ensure all statutory requirements for the underground mine are met
- Coordinate, manage and mentor a team of Mining Engineers
- Facilitate the achievement of day-to-day activity of the underground mining operation as part of the Mining Alliance
- Analyse, track and report operational execution against mine plans
- Identify, assess and manage risks to the execution of the mine plan
- Ensuring approved plans and infrastructure are in place ahead of the scheduled requirement

- A de gree in Mining Engineering or related discipline, and/or extensive prior experience in Underground mining
- WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency is preferable Or willing to obtain
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage, engage, lead and coach a team of experienced professionals and technical personnel
- Demonstrable high-level mine design skills, preferably with Deswik software
- A strong understanding of an underground mining operation with a focus on effective sequencing, and to translate it into executable mine plans.
- Critical thinking ability, being able to identify and solve potential issues in mine sequencing and design.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
- Effective time management, decision making, and communication skills
