About The Role

As a Child & Youth Specialist, this is your opportunity to lead the coordination of high-quality, child-focused interventions and therapeutic support within a trauma-informed, family violence service. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that the unique needs, risks, and wellbeing of children are at the centre of everything we do. Reporting to the Program Coordinator. this is a Permanent Full-Time role, located in Broken Hill, NSW.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Work directly with children and their caregivers, helping them access the right services and supports.
  • Deliver on-site programs that support children and families to recover and reconnect in a safe, engaging environment.
  • Use play-based approaches to assess developmental milestones and link children to appropriate therapeutic services when needed.
  • Collaborate with caregivers and children to identify risks and develop age-appropriate safety strategies.
  • Offer practical advice and coaching to team members around supporting children, particularly in relation to trauma, safety, and wellbeing.

What You Will Bring

  • Degree qualification in social work, welfare (social sciences), psychology community development or related field. Specialist training in working with children
  • A current and Valid Driver's License.
  • Experience working with children and families who have experienced trauma
  • A background supporting women and children affected by family violence
