We’re currently seeking a hands-on, trade-qualified Maintenance Technician/Fitter to join our team. This is a real-world, boots-on-the-ground role in a genuine waste environment. If you're reliable, resilient, and thrive in tough conditions, you’ll fit right in.
About the role:
This role is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of machinery and equipment used for liquid waste collection, processing and disposal. You will perform mechanical and minor electrical repairs, diagnose and resolve equipment faults, ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures, and undertake preventive maintenance measures to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect, service and repair fixed plant equipment and machinery
- Troubleshoot faults and minimise downtime through proactive repairs
- Perform regular preventive maintenance and safety checks
- Support new equipment installations and project upgrades
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and manage spare parts
- Collaborate across teams and assist other trades when needed
- Weld and carry out metalwork as required
- Help improve maintenance procedures and equipment performance
What You’ll Bring
- Trade certificate – Fitter Turner, Boilermaker or Plumber
- Experience in wastewater treatment or similar environments
- Strong fault-finding and repair skills
- Reliable, with the ability to work independently and in a team
- Physically capable of working in challenging, dirty environments
- Basic computer skills and experience using maintenance software
