The Role
We are seeking a Lead Systems Integrator to oversee the support and operations of critical middleware platforms for a major Sydney-based enterprise client. This role will lead a small onshore support team and serve as the primary interface for platform health, governance, and vendor engagement across IBM middleware systems.
This is an on-site leadership role focused on ensuring stability, performance, and continuity of services within a secure enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of IBM middleware platforms including Tivoli, WebSphere Application Server (WAS), and MQ.
- Manage escalations, governance reporting, and communications with client stakeholders.
- Coordinate with external vendors (e.g., IBM, HCL) for L4-level issue resolution.
- Drive the transition and onboarding of new services, leading knowledge transfer and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Facilitate weekly reporting, service reviews, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure service levels, operational KPIs, and quality metrics are consistently achieved.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in supporting IBM middleware systems, with deep expertise in Tivoli, WAS, and MQ.
- Proven track record of leading small technical teams in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong working knowledge of ITIL processes and ITSM frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and client-facing communication skills.
- Experience using ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar.
- Ability to manage governance reporting, service reviews, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
