This is a foundational leadership role with high autonomy and influence, ideal for someone who wants to shape a purpose-driven firm from the ground up, while ensuring full compliance and risk governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish internal systems and policies to meet the QLS's appropriate management systems (AMS) benchmarks
  • Manage ethical risks, confidentiality, and client protections in all practice areas (primarily DVA-related compensation and administrative law matters)
  • Liaise with the QLS, Legal Services Commission, and other regulatory bodies where required

About You

  • Must hold an unrestricted Principal Practising Certificate in Queensland
  • Eligible and willing to be appointed as the Legal Practice Director of an Incorporated Legal Practice under the QLS framework
  • Minimum 5-7 years post-admission experience, ideally in administrative law, personal injury, compensation, or veteran entitlements

  • Experience setting up or running a legal practice, or taking on compliance and risk leadership roles in a firm
  • Genuine interest in social impact, veteran affairs, and improving access to justice for vulnerable populations

What We Offer

  • Full autonomy to build and lead the legal practice function of a fast-growing firm
  • Strong operational support, including an experienced Operations Manager and Managing Partner team
  • Competitive remuneration package with profit-share or equity opportunity
  • Flexible working arrangements, including WFH options and support for work-life balance
  • A direct impact on the lives of veterans and their families
