Your team

The Financial Stability Department analyses the implications for financial system stability of developments in the economy, financial markets and the financial sector more generally, including patterns of financial intermediation, financial products and risk management techniques. The department works closely with the other Council of Financial Regulators (CFR) agencies to identify and monitor risks to financial stability. It provides advice on financial stability risks and how they might interact with monetary policy to the Governors and the Reserve Bank Board.

It also supports the Reserve Bank's representation on bodies such as the CFR, the Financial Stability Board and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.

The Financial Stability department is part of the Financial System Group, and this role will work closely with the executive assistants within the group in a collegiate and team-oriented culture to achieve the objectives and goals of the Group.

The role

Supporting the Head of Financial Stability, this role will be responsible for a diverse range of executive support activities including contributing to the planning, co-ordination and provision of administrative processes with the overall aim of supporting the Head of Financial Stability to achieve business objectives efficiently and effectively.

This role will also work closely with the Executive Support Team of the Financial System Group, working as part of the team to achieve the overall objectives of the Group and providing coverage in peak work periods and employee leave.

You'll be involved in a variety of activities including:

  • Proactive inbox management for the Head of Financial Stability, flagging emails for action within deadlines and following up.
  • Extensive diary management for Head of Financial Stability including proactive organisation of internal and external meetings, booking of meeting rooms and resources, registration of external guests and recording of relevant meeting information in relevant registers.
  • Assist the Deputy Heads with complex meeting arrangements involving liaison with stakeholders, scheduling of the meeting, booking meeting rooms and resources, guest registration and collection.
  • Provide a range of administrative support functions such as preparing documents, maintenance of registers and databases and maintaining email distribution lists.
  • Work closely and effectively with the Executive Support Team function of the Group, being a team player and providing coverage in peak work periods and times of employee leave;
  • Booking of domestic and international travel as required;
  • Organise internal events such as offsites and department functions including booking venues and equipment, and prepare documentation for materials or presentations.
  • Provide administrative support to the CFR Secretariat which involves liaising with agencies for booking of the meetings, preparation of documents, catering, room setup and other tasks as directed.


Your background

To be successful in this role you'll need:

  • Advanced in all MS Office tools, in particular Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote and SharePoint.
  • Proven strong organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage multiple and often conflicting tasks.
  • A proactive approach to work with the ability to work autonomously, employ initiative to find solutions, prioritise and exercise discretion.
  • Affable and easy to work with the ability to build trusted relationships quickly to enable tasks to be actioned efficiently.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and be flexible when change occurs
