About The Team

Our Construction Services (Temporary Works) Team assess the most suitable construction methodology for our clients' requirements and detail the engineering works required for implementation. We provide a full range of temporary works and construction engineering services across Australia in multiple sectors, focusing on the development of safe, considered, and innovative solutions to the most challenging problems encountered in the construction of projects. Our team pride themselves on working seamlessly with all project stakeholders, ensuring no solution is developed in isolation and without consideration of the potential implications on other areas of the project.

About The Role

Our Melbourne practice is looking to appoint a Senior Design Technician with significant temporary works engineering design experience, excellent communication skills and the desire to lead and mentor developing technicians within the group. This is a pivotal role supporting the Melbourne CS Team Lead to manage projects, delegate workload, and interface with key clients.

We are looking for someone with …

  • Tertiary qualification in drafting or engineering (advantageous)
  • A minimum of 7 years demonstrated experience in documenting temporary works structures within the infrastructure, industrial, commercial, and residential areas using Revit, AutoCAD or similar software
  • Experience with Common Data Environments (CDE) such as BIM360/ACC
  • Ability to provide drafting delivery support to projects as assigned by the Engineer
  • Preferred to have knowledge of concrete and steel detailing, construction methods and their impact on design
  • Preferred to have an understanding of relevant Australian Standards and Codes, drafting requirements for local authorities and government departments
  • Ability to adhere to production schedules
  • Enjoys working in a collaborative team
  • Comfortable leading and influencing others
  • A positive attitude and strong attention to detail
