As a strategic and hands-on leader, the Cloud Integration & Enablement Engineering Leader is responsible for the detailed design, build & quality of all cloud native platform services in EA in line with our architectural objectives. Reporting into the Head of Engineering & Architecture, this role is central to delivering scalable, secure, and cost-efficient solutions that support EA’s "cloud-first" vision and modern technology landscape. Key responsibilities include:
- Own the design, delivery, and evolution of cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure), integration layers (APIs, messaging), and developer tooling (CI/CD, DevOps)
- Lead delivery of secure, seamless system integration using APIs and event-driven architectures
- Establish and govern API and integration standards across the organisation
- Hire, mentor, and develop high-performing platform engineers, cloud architects, and integration specialists
- Collaborate with product, business, and technology leaders to ensure platform strategies align with organisational goals
- Champion platform vision, roadmaps, and best practices across engineering communities
- Translate complex business needs into scalable, compliant technical capabilities which optimise cloud usage and spend to balance performance and cost
You're a visionary Cloud Engineering leader with a passion for architecting and delivering scalable, cloud-native platforms. Equally adept at deep technical design and strategic leadership, you thrive on translating complex business needs into resilient, automated cloud solutions. You will have most of the following experience:
- Proven ability to architect and evolve cloud-native platforms (IaaS, PaaS, integration layers) in complex, corporate environments.
- Depth of technical knowledge across cloud (AWS/Azure), DevOps, platform engineering, and integration technologies
- 7+ years leading cloud-first or hybrid platform delivery. Experience with large-scale, distributed systems with a proven track record delivering measurable business outcomes (time-to-market, stability, cost efficiency) through technology platforms
- Proven ability to build, lead, and inspire high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams; fostering psychological safety and continuous improvement (preferably onshore & offshore)
- Strong communication and influence across product, business, and executive stakeholders; ability to translate tech into business value
- Delivered internal platforms as products (PaaS, developer portals, shared CI/CD pipelines, platform APIs). Experience in platform-as-a-product thinking
- Familiar with regulatory environments and ensuring secure, compliant platform operations (desirable)
