Randstad Defence is looking for a training developer to support a global defence organization based in Sydney. You will Develop, deliver, and evaluate technical training programs to ensure stakeholders receive high-quality, effective instruction.The candidate must be an Australian citizen and already have or willing to obtain a NV1 security clearance and be eligible for ITAR assesment.

About The Role

  • Enhance Training Programs – Develop, deliver, and evaluate technical training programs to ensure stakeholders receive high-quality, effective instruction.
  • Improve Documentation Quality – Create and refine technical documentation to support product understanding and operational effectiveness.
  • Support Stakeholder Engagement – Act as a liaison between engineering teams, customers, and key stakeholders to ensure training and documentation meet operational needs.
  • Drive Process Improvement – Establish best practices, templates, and standards to improve the efficiency, consistency, and quality of training and documentation deliverables.
  • Lead and Develop Teams – Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to enhance team capabilities in training design, technical writing, and project execution.
  • Ensure Project Success – Manage training and documentation timelines, risks, and deliverables to support overall project objectives.
  • Integrate Technology – Leverage modern tools and digital learning platforms to improve training accessibility and documentation effectiveness.

About You

  • Proven experience in Instructional Systems Design (ISD), plus developing training materials and delivering technical product training to Collins’ customers.
  • Strong technical writing skills for diverse audiences, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • In-depth Knowledge and experience of the Australian Defence Force’s ‘Systems Approach to Defence Learning’ (SADL), or similar military specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to introduce change and improve documentation and training standards.
  • Leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor and guide team members.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience with tracking tools and managing deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), technical skills, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
