As the Head of Retail Insights and Solutions for OneData, you will be accountable for developing and executing the strategy to leverage our shared data asset to unlock value for our retail divisions. You will play a pivotal role in identifying opportunities that will deliver tangible commercial value to our divisions by understanding their customers and core retail strategies, and how data insights can be used by divisions to implement those strategies.
What you’ll be doing
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of analysts
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a robust data and analytics strategy to further grow value offering to the divisions and increase future revenue opportunities across the group
- Data Governance: Work closely with Data Governance and Privacy function to incorporate data governance and privacy policies to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
- Retail Analytics: Build customer attributes and data insights that drive personalisation, incrementality and cross-shop across the Wesfarmers retail divisions, with an eye to new monetisation opportunities.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with divisional stakeholders in the management and agreed usage of divisional data in the Shared Data Asset
- Customer Insights Utilisation: Lead education of key stakeholders on the importance of customer data and insights, helping to translate insights into actionable business strategies
- Performance Measurement: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the effectiveness of the incremental value created for divisions by your retail analytics team
- Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continually enhance the data opportunities for divisions, including opportunities presented by generative AI
- Operations: Work alongside the Head of Data and Analytics to develop and execute tech and people budget and related activities such as monthly financial reporting, forecasting etc
What you'll bring to the table
- Bring 8+ years of experience in a Data Insights Lead or Head of role in a retail or consulting environment, working with a substantial data asset.
- Proven experience in running teams in agile environments to deliver projects across large scale enterprise.
- Experience of a hands-on role through the full data lifecycle of design, development and delivery of analytics for retail clients, including using data at scale to drive commercial outcomes, such as through personalisation.
- Understanding of technical and data product management, advanced analytics methodologies, and machine learning practices.
- Experience with the data requirements, both technical and business needs, to support a retail media ecosystem
- Confident people manager able to face into challenging conversations with multiple stakeholders, set clear expectations and hold others accountable while cultivating a healthy team environment. An understanding of how to drive effectiveness in a team of technical experts through a combination of leading, coaching, participating, reviewing.
- Be an excellent written/spoken communicator and stakeholder manager, with strong interpersonal skills across a diverse group of stakeholders
