The hotel features 190 rooms and apartments, a fully equipped conference centre, restaurant and bar. We are looking for a motivated and reliable part-time Handyperson to work closely with our Maintenance Manager and assist in keeping our property in top condition. This is a permanent part-time role (2-3 days per week) offering the award base rate of $26.70 per hour.

Job Description
- Maintaining and repairing guest rooms, hotel facilities, plant rooms, and equipment, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
- Performing preventative maintenance and addressing curative repairs in a timely and guest-focused manner.
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff
- Supporting the team by reviewing guest feedback, participating in improvement initiatives, and sharing ideas during meetings, and contributing to sustainability goals
- Communicate effectively with hotel staff to address urgent maintenance concerns
- Upholding safety standards, including compliance with OH&S procedures, correct use of PPE, and following emergency protocols.
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance tasks, inspections, and daily reports using hotel systems.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working on the maintenance of hotels, residential buildings, fixed plant or equipment systems.
- Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with guests, colleagues, and external partners
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
- Ability to accommodate flexibility with shifts including weekends.
- A trade qualification is not required. You must have current working rights in Australia. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this role.
