Capricorn is seeking a dynamic professional to champion risk management and compliance across our operations in Australia and New Zealand. This role is pivotal in shaping how we evaluate and strengthen our governance, controls, and risk frameworks—ensuring we stay ahead of regulatory expectations while driving continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Lead efforts to embed a strong risk culture and ensure compliance with evolving legislation.
- Provide hands-on support and oversight to operational teams, bringing a disciplined and systematic approach to risk and control evaluation.
- Collaborate with legal, Level 2 functions, business units, and senior leaders to review policies, resolve audit findings, and identify process enhancements.
- Drive governance excellence through regular policy reviews and proactive risk workshops.
- A solid grasp of risk and control principles, with the ability to simplify complex regulatory requirements.
- The ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the business.
- Exceptional communication and executive reporting skills.
- Analytical thinking and creative problem-solving to uncover and address control gaps.
- High attention to detail and strong time-management to juggle priorities and meet deadlines.
- Confidence in leading risk workshops and presenting to stakeholders.
- 5+ years in Financial Services, ideally with exposure to insurance, risk, or compliance.
- At least 3 years in risk, compliance, or corporate governance roles.
- Tertiary qualifications in Risk, Compliance, Business, Commerce, Finance, or Law.
- Strong understanding of ISO 31000 Risk Management principles.
