To ensure that our organisation will have the correct workforce in place to enable our 2030 Group Strategy, we have created a brand-new role for a Strategic Workforce Planner. Reporting into the General Manager, People Strategy and Capability this role will provide expertise, develop frameworks and provide governance in supporting the development of in-sights driven strategic workforce plans.


You’ll be an integral partner to the People and Culture Leadership team, working closely alongside leaders to advise and ensure alignment of the People strategy with tangible people plans backed by analytics. Connecting with SMEs and Executives across the Bank you’ll lead the development of enduring frameworks and implement strategic workforce planning initiatives to enable the Bank’s future workforce needs. Additionally, your expertise will be critical as you assist the implementation and embedding of a Saas solution to facilitate the workforce planning process.


You’ll be part of an engaged and supportive People and Culture team that are incredibly passionate and work collaboratively to enrich our people’s experience. This is a highly visible and impactful position where you’ll be responsible for bringing the Bank’s workforce into the future, additionally your opinions and challenges will be sought and valued.


This role can be based in Adelaide, Bendigo, Melbourne or Sydney. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model with a minimum requirement of 60% of your time per week in the office.


What you’ll bring to the role


  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success in a similar role, designing and implementing strategic workforce planning frameworks in a large and complex organisation
  • Previous experience in the finance/banking sector preferred but not essential
  • A strategic mindset and ability to develop and implement HR initiatives aligned with Group strategy.
  • Proven business acumen, understanding business contexts, market trends, and the financial implications of HR decisions
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills at all levels
