The Opportunity

We are seeking a Night Manager to oversee the operations of our hotel overnight. The Night Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the property, managing the nights team, monitoring any housekeeping or administrative needs during these hours, and maintaining a high level of customer service.

This position will also oversee the night audit process, ensuring the proper posting of hotel revenue, identifying any discrepancies with accuracy, and generating a comprehensive night audit report.

Please note that this is an overnight role requiring you to work 11pm till 7am, 5 days per week on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise staff during the night shift
  • Provide friendly, personalised and efficient guest service
  • Monitor guestroom allocations, guest arrivals, site inspection room allocation, group set-up and check-in
  • Upsell and provide general information regarding hotel services and facilities
  • Ensure the safety and security of the property
  • Prepare reports and communicate with upper management
  • Handle guest complaints and resolution
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents as needed
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Train and develop staff as needed

Desired Skills And Experience

  • Minimum two years' experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A collaborative leadership style with an emphasis on building team culture
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of safety and security procedures
  • Competency with computers and writing audit reports, including previous experience using OPERA PMS
  • First Aid Certificate or be willing to do training to attain one
