About The Opportunity

Based in our Brisbane office, the Mining Consultant will play a key role in delivering high-quality technical solutions across a wide range of mining projects. This is an exciting chance to apply your expertise in technical engineering to engagements from early-stage mine planning, scheduling, and feasibility studies through to execution.

You’ll support clients in unlocking value through data-driven analysis and mine optimisation strategies, using industry-standard tools such as Deswik, Vulcan, and Spry. Your work will span planning, feasibility assessments, and operational improvement initiatives across both surface and underground environments.

Reporting to our Principal Consulting Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and reviewing short- and long-term mine plans and schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Deswik, Spry, Vulcan)
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of mine scheduling models
  • Supporting feasibility studies, including cost and productivity analysis, and financial evaluations (e.g., NPV assessments)
  • Contributing to mine optimisation studies such as haulage and dumping strategies, equipment evaluations, and method comparisons
  • Preparing clear and detailed technical documentation and reports
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Occasional travel to client sites both domestically and internationally

About You

You’re a motivated early-career mining professional who thrives in a dynamic, client-focused environment. You’re technically capable, eager to learn, and ready to apply your skills to a wide range of mining challenges.

Key Skills, Experience, And Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or Geological Sciences
  • 0–4 years of relevant experience in mine planning, design, or scheduling
  • Exposure to or proficiency in mine planning software such as Spry, Deswik, Vulcan, or similar
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
  • Excellent spreadsheeting and technical report writing skills
  • Previous CAD experience is desirable
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site when required
