About The Role

AGL’s HSE Land and Approvals & Construction team have a newly created opportunity for an Approvals Specialist – Construction.

With the flexibility to be based in NSW, Victoria, SA or QLD this role will be leading the construction approvals process for AGL’s pipeline of new renewable projects to help achieve our targets of 12GW renewable capacity by 2035.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and managing the evaluation and execution of planning, environmental and other regulatory approvals for AGL’s construction sites and projects.
  • Building and maintaining effective strategic and operational relationships across the business, as well as with regulatory bodies.
  • Reviewing regulatory approvals and strategies prepared as part of the development phase to ensure efficient handover processes are implemented, and that approvals are appropriate for efficient delivery of projects during construction.
  • Supporting the construction team through providing advice for project approvals and environmental obligations for construction across Queensland, NSW, Victoria, South Australia & WA.


What You’ll Bring To The Table

  • Planning or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Ability to coordinate both internal and external stakeholders in support of the preparation and review of approval documentation
  • Exceptional stakeholder management experience.
  • Proactive and energetic about leading and delivering.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and deliver within critical timeframes.
  • Experience in operating as the approvals SME for development and construction teams is highly desirable.
