About The Role

Are you an experienced business operations or project manager with a passion for events? The City of Sydney is seeking a Business Administration Manager to support the successful delivery of our Major Events and Festivals portfolio.

In this role, you’ll manage procurement and contracting processes, oversee event budgets, drive compliance and lead key business and administrative projects all while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to bring Sydney’s iconic public events to life.

Key Responsibilities

lead and manage procurement and contracting processes in partnership with the City’s legal, risk and governance teamsprovide strategic advice on business operations, resourcing, and finance to support event deliverymaintain oversight of event budgets and ensure financial reporting is accurate and timelydevelop internal memos and approvals in line with the City’s Register of Delegationsbuild and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure smooth project deliverysupport cross-functional collaboration across programming, production and operations teams.

We’re Looking For Someone With

a degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or equivalent professional experiencequalifications or demonstrated experience in Procurement and/or Contract Managementexperience providing business/administrative services to a high-performing operationstrong stakeholder management and negotiation skillsproven ability to balance governance requirements with commercial outcomes.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
